The rock band Modest Mouse announced on Saturday night that Jeremiah Green, a co-founder and drummer, has passed away following a battle with cancer. He was 45.
Modest mouse announced the death of Jeremiah:
Just before the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, the band posted on its official Facebook page, “I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our good buddy Jeremiah.” “He simply faded away after settling down to rest. While I would like to express something poetic right now, the time simply isn’t appropriate. These will appear later and from a variety of sources. Please be grateful for the love you receive, give, receive, give, and will receive. Jeremiah was primarily about love. We cherish you.
Jeremiah affected by cancer:
Just a few days earlier, Modest Mouse said Green had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer: “Jeremiah was diagnosed with cancer a short while ago, and he’s presently receiving treatment. It appears to be going well and changing things for the better. Jeremiah and I both believe in the power of positive energy, so if you could send Jeremiah and his family some “good vibes,” as Jeremiah put it, that would be wonderful.
Jeremiah’s works:
Green, lead guitarist and singer Isaac Brock, and bassist Eric Judy, who left the band in 2012, formed Modest Mouse in Washington in 1992. After briefly leaving Modest Mouse in 2003, the drummer returned and has since been recording and performing with the band. He has previously performed with the bands Vells, Satisfact, Red Stars Theory, and Peeved in addition to Modest Mouse. He was ranked No. 37 on Stylus Magazine’s list of the top 50 best rock drummers and was known as an accomplished drummer in the indie rock genre.
Brock, Tom Peloso, Russell Higbee, Ben Massarella, and Simon O’Connor make up Modest Mouse at the moment. Beginning with “This Is a Long Drive for Someone Without Anything to Think About” in 1996, the group has put out seven studio albums, featuring hits like “Float On,” “Ocean Breathes Salty,” “Dashboard,” and “Lampshades on Fire.” The Golden Casket, their most recent album, was released on June 25, 2021.
